About the role:
Rombola Family Farms is seeking passionate and driven Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our team in Mataranka, NT and Douglas-Daly, NT. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will report to the Engineering Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring that farm machinery is running smoothly and efficiently. This is a permanent, full-time position.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs. You should be able to work independently and be able to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.
Key operational accountabilities include:
* Conducting regular maintenance checks on all farm machinery.
* Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
* Repairing and replacing faulty parts.
* Performing routine servicing and oil changes.
* Ensuring all machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
* Experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with farm machinery.
* A strong understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to working with heavy machinery.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
* Excellent communication skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
* A willingness to work flexible hours during peak periods.
