Financial Counsellor – Financial Resilience & Wellbeing Service
Employment Term: Permanent, Full Time (76 hours per fortnight)
Location: Mackay
Remuneration: $51 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)
Responsibilities
* Assess the financial situation of individuals and families experiencing difficulties.
* Provide information regarding government assistance, negotiate repayment with creditors, and assist in accessing community resources.
* Empower clients to manage their own finances and engage with creditors by explaining rights and responsibilities.
* Advocate on behalf of clients to encourage independence and self‐sufficiency.
* Engage proactively with community services and reach hard‐to‐reach individuals to ensure inclusive access.
* Contribute to community education initiatives that raise awareness of financial wellbeing issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Diploma in Financial Counselling (essential).
* Completed or working towards a Problem Gambling Skill Set (CHCSS00111) course.
* Demonstrated empathy, professionalism and a non‐judgmental approach in all interactions.
* Experience building collaborative networks with health, mental health and community support providers is highly regarded.
* Eligibility for membership with Financial Counselling Queensland (FCQ).
* Current driver's licence.
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
