Cairns | Full-time
We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Group Human Resources Manager to lead the people and culture function across our multi-site group. This is a senior leadership role for someone who is passionate about creating a positive, engaging and enjoyable work environment where people feel supported, valued and set up to succeed.
Working across multiple clubs and related entities, including two newly acquired clubs, you will partner closely with executive and operational leaders to build strong teams, support leaders, and drive consistent and practical HR outcomes across the group.
About the role
Reporting to the Group General Manager, you will lead a small HR team with two direct reports — a Senior HR Advisor and HR Advisor — and provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership. You will play a key role in shaping culture, strengthening capability, supporting performance and helping create workplaces where people enjoy coming to work.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the HR function across multiple clubs, venues and entities.
* Leading, mentoring and supporting a Senior HR Advisor and HR Advisor.
* Partnering with executives, general managers and leaders to provide practical and commercial HR advice.
* Overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and employee development initiatives.
* Managing and overseeing the annual salary review and performance review process.
* Leading employee relations matters including investigations, grievances, disciplinary matters and performance issues.
* Developing, reviewing and implementing HR, WHS and related policies and procedures.
* Supporting safe workplaces, strong leadership capability and a positive employee experience across the group.
About you
You are an experienced HR leader who combines strong technical capability with a genuine passion for people. You know how to build trust, coach leaders, navigate complex issues fairly and create practical HR solutions that support both the business and its people.
You will bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience in a senior HR or people and culture leadership role across multi-site or multi-entity operations with a workforce of 200+ staff.
* Demonstrated experience leading and developing HR team members.
* Strong expertise in employee relations, investigations, performance management and workplace compliance.
* Demonstrated experience managing annual salary and performance review processes.
* Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Modern Awards and WHS obligations.
* Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures and people frameworks.
* Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in clubs, hospitality, gaming, leisure or other service-based environments will be highly regarded.
What we offer
* A senior leadership role with the opportunity to make a genuine impact on culture, leadership and employee experience across the group.
* The chance to lead and develop a capable HR team and partner closely with leaders across multiple sites.
* A supportive and collaborative environment where people, culture and community matter.
* Competitive remuneration aligned to the scope and impact of the role, including generous meal allowance and 5 weeks annual leave.
* Immediate start available.
