About the facility
Jigsaw provides specialist early intervention for young people with or at risk of developing a psychotic disorder and treatment services for young people with drug and alcohol and/or high prevalence disorders. Under the auspice of the wider Barwon Health Mental Health & Drug Alcohol Service, it also forms a central component of the Headspace Geelong Consortia and is actively involved in service development and innovation to assist in the national campaign to promote early and effective mental health and drug and alcohol interventions for young people.
About the Homeless Youth and Dual Diagnosis Initiative (HYDDI)
The role of HYDDI is to improve cross sector partnerships and improve upon integrated service delivery through capacity building, education, support to guide treatment and primary and secondary consultation. The HYDDI program aims to identify symptoms of mental illness, substance abuse issues, assist with facilitating recovery and assist to establish service linkages for the young person.
About you
4. Formal professionally-recognised qualifications in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Clinical Psychology
5. Current Victorian Driver Licence
6. Qualification specialising in Alcohol and Other Drugs or Addiction studies, equivalent or above the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs work, or a willingness to work towards this
7. A demonstrated level of advanced clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of young persons with mental health disorders in a community setting
8. Knowledge of the underlying principles, clinical care and best practice models associated with youth mental health, in particular those pertaining to evidence-based treatment for mental illness occurring during youth
9. Knowledge of key homelessness policy frameworks and strategic plans
