MACA's search for a Mining Supervisor is an opportunity to join a mining business on a permanent, full-time basis with an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth to Gruyere. The Gruyere Gold Mine is an open-pit operation located in the Yamarna greenstone belt approximately 200 kilometres east of Laverton in Western Australia.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Mining Superintendent and be responsible for leading and mentoring a crew of Production Operators to ensure safe and efficient mining operations.
The key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring all work activities are conducted in accordance with contract/project management plans and statutory requirements.
2. A thorough understanding of managing procurement, plant, equipment, and resources.
3. Verifying that all technical, engineering, and specified aspects of the work activity are complete prior to commencement of works.
4. Providing direction to production crews, ensuring effective shift handovers, prestart, and toolbox meetings.
5. Identifying areas for improvement, assessing training requirements, and providing coaching and development opportunities for staff.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
1. A demonstrated track record of fostering safety in the workplace.
2. Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, leading and mentoring teams effectively to drive production performance outcomes.
3. Extensive experience in open-pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium, or Iron ore background highly regarded.
4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
5. Working knowledge of the relevant Regulation/Legislation.
