Introduction
As a Program Facilitator you will engage with men in a court mandated targeted behaviour change process to support immediate, short‑term and long‑term behavioural and attitudinal change. Through group education initiatives in community based settings, you will provide culturally competent rehabilitation and reintegration services to male perpetrators of family and domestic violence. You will co‑facilitate evening group work sessions with another facilitator, modelling respectful and appropriate ways of communicating and interacting with the ultimate goal of breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence. The role also entails high level case note and assessment/report writing to the Department of Justice standards.
This is a full‑time ongoing role based in Joondalup, 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday including working in the afternoon and evening two days per week.
Skills and Experiences
- Tertiary qualifications in a human services related field (contractual requirement set by our funding body)
- Significant industry experience with specialist knowledge relevant to family and domestic violence, including knowledge of intervention models appropriate to working with FDV perpetrators
- Knowledge of the impact of family violence on adult victims, children, young people and communities
- Ability to facilitate and deliver community education and community development programmes
- Excellent formal report and case note writing skills
- Experience working with mandated clients would be highly desirable
Requirements
- Current National Police Clearance valid within one year
- WA Driver’s Licence
- Ability to obtain a Department of Corrective Services clearance
