The team in Maddington WA are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the sustainable growth of our Road Stabilisation and Spray Seal businesses with a strong emphasis on maintaining a Zero Harm environment. The successful candidate will have previous road stabilisation, spray seal or civil road experience and demonstrate a high level of independent, objective decision making in daily operations, while also contributing collaboratively to strategic and business initiatives. Travel to regional sites and weekend work will be required.
Key responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of spray seal and stabilisation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.
Manage and mentor supervisors and crews, fostering a high-performance culture.
Oversee project financials including budgeting, forecasting, claims, and reconciliations.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and government agencies to ensure compliance and build strong relationships.
Monitor and report on KPIs, productivity, and quality standards.
Ensure plant, materials, and resources are effectively managed and maintained.
Implement continuous improvement strategies and internal audits to enhance operational performance.
Drive Zero Harm initiatives and uphold Downer's values across all operations.
What you'll bring
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business Management or a related discipline.
Proven experience in senior project management within stabilisation, spray seal, asphalt or civil road construction.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to drive team performance.
Sound knowledge of safety, quality and environmental standards and legislation.
