Reporting to the Underground Manager, this critical leadership role is accountable for managing geotechnical risk, implementing standards, and providing timely, practical technical guidance that supports safe and reliable production outcomes.You will play a key role in connecting corporate geotechnical standards with site execution, working closely with senior technical leaders while leading a capable and engaged site team.**About the Role**This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive geotechnical performance across all active operations, ensuring robust systems, effective risk management, and high-quality input into planning and operational decision-making.**Key Responsibilities:****Geotechnical Leadership & Risk*** Lead geotechnical support across underground and open pit operations* Implement and maintain geotechnical plans, TARPs, monitoring and inspection regimes* Identify, manage and escalate geotechnical risks and control failures* Monitor ground performance and adjust recommendations accordingly**Technical Delivery & Operations*** Provide practical advice on design, ground support, sequencing and slope stability* Embed geotechnical inputs into planning cycles and operational decisions* Oversee monitoring systems, instrumentation and data integrity* Support incident investigations and approve designs and risk assessments**Leadership & Capability*** Lead, coach and develop the site geotechnical team* Drive strong field presence, accountability and technical discipline**Planning, Assurance & Improvement*** Contribute to budgets, forecasts and mine planning* Coordinate investigations, consultants and assurance activities* Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting and workflows**Stakeholder Engagement*** Build strong cross-functional relationships across site and technical teams* Provide clear, risk-based updates to leadership and support better decision-making**What you can expect from us:*** A caring and supportive culture.* Professional and positive team environments on site, and at all facilities.* A 'grow our own' approach with a preference to develop and promote internally.* Access to professional development activities and educational assistance.* Competitive salary, and options for salary sacrificing.* Our team lives by the ASPIRE Values – Accountable.
