THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the National Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist will provide comprehensive support to ensure the national employee base of circa 700 specialist employees are remunerated according to complex Awards and Industrial Agreements including, but not limited to:
* Processing payroll on a weekly basis across all states and territories
* Portable Long Service Leave Australia-wide
* Assisting with the preparation of Payroll Tax
* Superannuation
* STP
* Statutory body and WGEA reporting
* Leave/RDO Accruals
* Providing back-up support for Apprentice Payroll
* Calculating and processing Termination and Redundancy payments
* FBT
* Novated leases
IDEAL APPLICANTS
A solid "depth" of Payroll experience gained from industries with complex agreements is mandatory combined with the agility to work with a weekly processing pay cycle. Accuracy and attention to detail are key as your employee base work in a 24/7 "on call" work environment. An openness to change is essential, as this organisation is embarking on a major project to uplift both Payroll and other back-office functions to accommodate planned growth.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
You will learn current processes and procedures quickly (albeit in a relatively manual payroll work environment) until the transformation project commences where the business will then rely on your expertise as they transition to best-of-breed Payroll and HRIS. Being open to new, and more efficient ways, of doing things will set you up for success as you navigate change with the wider business.
