The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join the Finance and HR team. This part-time or full time role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a sharp eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
You'll take ownership of weekly payroll for a large, diverse workforce and play a key part in keeping everything accurate, compliant, and running smoothly. If you're proactive and enjoy being the go-to person for payroll matters, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
* Process end-to-end weekly payroll for 300+ employees
* Interpret awards, NES and Fair Work obligations
* Manage employee onboarding/offboarding in payroll and HRIS systems
* Handle backpay, workers' compensation and termination calculations
* Answer payroll queries with professionalism and accuracy
* Maintain payroll data, ensuring compliance and confidentiality
* Assist with superannuation, payroll tax and month-end reporting
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in full-function payroll
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and tax requirements
* Confidence in managing deadlines and juggling priorities
* Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* HRIS/Employment Hero knowledge is ideal but not essential
* A team player with clear, professional communication skills
