Job Title
A supportive and caring individual is needed to provide personal assistance and homemaking services to clients in their homes or communities.
This role requires a compassionate and organized person who can work independently as well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
The successful applicant will work with clients and families to understand their needs, develop care plans, and implement strategies to promote independence and well-being.
* Observes and evaluates client situations to determine need for change in care plan.
* Develops and implements care plans under the direction of a supervisor.
* Provides personal support tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
* Assists clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
* Provides respite care to clients and their families.
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Home Support Worker (Level I, II, III) or Personal Support Worker program certification an asset.
* First Aid and CPR training required.
* Experience working with elderly or ill individuals or children an asset.
* Strong communication and assessment skills.
Working Conditions
This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in this role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day.
