Role Description
This is a full‐time, on‐site Sales Engineer role based in Melbourne, VIC. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, conducting site visits, and developing proposals for tailored water treatment solutions. Daily activities include meeting with existing and prospective clients, understanding technical and operational requirements, and translating these into effective system designs in collaboration with internal technical staff. The role involves providing pre‐ and post‐sales technical support, preparing cost estimates, and delivering product and solution presentations. The Sales Engineer will also maintain accurate records in the CRM system, coordinate with operations and service teams to ensure successful project delivery, and provide ongoing customer follow‐up to support retention and repeat business.
Qualifications
* Strong Sales Engineering and Technical Support skills, with the ability to interpret technical requirements and propose practical water treatment solutions.
* Proven Sales and Customer Service capabilities, including building relationships, managing a sales pipeline, and supporting clients through the full project lifecycle.
* Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
* Background in water treatment, mechanical, chemical, or environmental engineering (or a related technical field) is highly desirable.
* Experience in field‐based or on‐site roles, including site inspections, system commissioning support, or service coordination, is an advantage.
* Comfort working with basic design documentation, specifications, and cost estimates; proficiency with standard office and CRM software.
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate with cross‐functional teams in a safety‐conscious environment.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites within Melbourne and surrounding regions as required.
