Job Description
Randstad is partnering with a major local government authority in Western Sydney to recruit an Environmental Health Officer. This role is dedicated to ensuring the community remains healthy and sustainable by managing environmental pressures and public health risks. You will join a professional team focused on delivering high-quality services and maintaining legislative compliance. Key Responsibilities:
* Regulatory Inspections: Perform health inspections for food premises, cooling towers, and skin penetration clinics to ensure public safety .
* Environmental Surveillance: Monitor and address noise, air, water, and land pollution incidents .
* Technical Assessments: Evaluate Development Applications (DAs) regarding sedimentation and erosion control .
* Community Education: Facilitate food safety seminars and sustainability initiatives for local stakeholders .
* Incident Response: Participate in a rotational after-hours roster for emergency responses and community festivals .
Requirements: -Education: A relevant degree-level qualification in Environmental Health or a related field .
* Licensing: Must hold a current NSW Driver's Licence (Class C) .
* Knowledge: Sound understanding of current environmental health issues and NSW legislation, such as the POEO Act .
* Communication: High-level oral and written skills for complex reporting and community presentations .
* Technical Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) .
