Role overview


The Child, Youth and Family Health team at Carlyle Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a temporary Advanced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (Early Childhood). This role is classified under the Phase 2 outcome of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce (Queensland Health) Certified Agreement (No. 1) 2019, with a Phase 3 process to confirm classification. The process may alter role details, title, classification, and remuneration, but will not affect employment conditions or pay.

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.

Your opportunity

* Operate within a multidisciplinary team to promote effective, culturally safe, and appropriate outcomes in early childhood and family health.
* Support the delivery of comprehensive, holistic care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
* Provide healthcare services within community settings across the HHS.

The Child, Youth and Family Health (0-18 years) unit is part of Mackay Hospital and Health Service, based at Carlyle Community Health Centre, Mackay. The service covers areas from Mackay to Sarina and Walkerston, offering client-focused screening, monitoring, guidance, education, referrals, and early interventions.
