Position Information
Canowindra Public School is located on the Lands of the Wiradjuri people in a small, rural town on the Central Western Slopes of NSW, situated between the larger centres of Cowra and Orange. The current school was established in 1891 and now educates approximately 170 students with 17% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
The school has a strong learning culture, focused on Literacy and Numeracy essentials incorporating traditional and contemporary practices. The school has a proactive and supportive Parents and Citizens Association and Student Representative Council. The school boasts a Peer Support Program which has been supporting students for over 25 years and the school has been actively engaged in Positive Behaviour for Learning as an embedded welfare program. Sporting and cultural activities form a pivotal role in extracurricular activities including a sustainable kitchen garden precinct.

About the Role
The School Administrative Manager is responsible for the efficient management of school financial and administrative systems, as well as supervision and training of school administration officers. Manages the provision of support for school activities and routines, including student welfare and wellbeing, and works with the school principal, the school executive and teaching staff as required.
Essential Requirements
* Working with Children Check Clearance
* First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
* Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Capacity to supervise staff.
* Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake financial and accounting responsibilities including use of computerised financial/administrative systems.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage an office.
* Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the department’s Aboriginal education policy
