Second Sous Chef – Waterbar & Grill, Cairns
Waterbar & Grill, Cairns’ premier waterfront steakhouse, is seeking a highly skilled Second Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen team. This is a key role in a high-volume environment, offering the opportunity to step up, lead and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in all kitchen operations.
- Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring smooth service and maintaining high standards.
- Assist in menu development, ordering, rostering, and staff mentoring.
- Ensure food safety, quality control, and cost management.
- Maintain a high-energy, skilled, and collaborative kitchen environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a busy, high-quality restaurant.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and hands-on cooking skills.
- Passion for premium produce and delivering exceptional dishes.
- Ability to thrive in a quick-paced, team-oriented environment.
