An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and highly experienced individual to join the REX Group in the Flight Operations Engineering Department (FOED) in a full-time capacity to manage the Department. The position reports directly to the General Manager Flight Operations/Chief Pilot and is responsible for managing the daily operation of the FOED and ensuring the overall and ongoing airworthiness compliance of the department in relation to its roles and functions which primarily involve flight planning, navigation and aircraft performance.
**Preferred Selection Criteria**:
- Previous experience in a Managerial role.
- CPL or higher and Command Instrument Rating theory
- Understanding of ATPL Performance and Loading
- A high level of computer literacy, particularly with advanced skills in excel
- A high level of attention to detail
- Ability to undertake technical tasks and duties in an efficient and professional manner
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
- Ability to direct and liaise with departmental personnel
- Ability to liaise with external organisations, Company Management and Flight Operations Department personnel
- A good level of understanding of the operational aspects of an RPT airline
- High level of analytical acumen and business experience
- Good communication and time management skills
**Desirable Selection Criteria**:
- Aerospace Engineering or Aviation related degree
- Previous experience using CAD
- OEI procedure design experience IAW CASR Part 121
- ICAO PANS OPS procedure design training
- Experience in high capacity RPT operations
- Previous experience with VBA, VB.NET or similar
This position involves being on call outside of normal working hours in order to meet operational needs. Some travel will be required.
