Queensland Farmers Federation (QFF) is an influential member‑based organisation that represents the interests of peak state and national agriculture industry organisations in Queensland, collectively representing more than 13,000 primary producers across the state.
QFF believes in a sustainable and profitable future for the agriculture sector and helps its member organisations support their individual members achieve this through advocacy, collaboration, leadership and research.
Overview
QFF is hiring two Industry Recovery and Resilience Officers (IRRO). One role will be based in Toowoomba, the other in the Sunshine Coast/Burnett region.
Responsibilities
* Assist primary producers impacted by eligible disaster events in accessing referral pathways to available grants, loans and industry, business, financial and mental health support.
* Identify event‑impacted areas and emerging needs and deliver workshops that meet the needs of impacted producers.
* Support the development of industry‑specific on‑farm business resilience plans and provide links to technical advice on natural disaster recovery and resilience.
* Ensure smooth and satisfactory delivery of project outputs, manage activities within a defined budget and work collaboratively with fellow IRROs, delivery partners and key stakeholders.

Qualifications – the essentials
* Experience in natural disaster recovery, preferably within agriculture.
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement within an agriculture industry or peak industry body.
* Demonstrated knowledge of government grant funding programs and the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
* Understanding of key concepts of risk, business continuity, resilience and insurance in the context of an agriculture business.
* Demonstrated and meticulous time, task management, problem‑solving and presentation skills.
* High level of written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English.
* Able to quickly and accurately understand and synthesize information – verbal, visual or written.
* Experience in delivery of events, workshops and online webinars.
* Strong computer literacy skills.
Non‑negotiable
* Queensland Driver Licence (C type). This role requires extensive car travel within Queensland; QFF reserves the right to undertake relevant police checks for driving history.
* A reliable vehicle.
Nice to have
* Tertiary qualification, preferably in agribusiness or agriculture.
