The Director of Safety, Quality and Clinical Education provides strategic leadership for clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and clinical workforce capability across Maryborough District Health Service.
The role is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring systems that ensure safe, high-quality and person-centred care. This includes oversight of clinical risk management, accreditation, consumer engagement, clinical education and continuous improvement programs.
The Director works closely with the Executive Team, clinical leaders and external stakeholders to embed a strong culture of safety, accountability and learning across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and direction for clinical governance frameworks and patient safety initiativesDevelop and implement comprehensive quality improvement strategies that enhance patient outcomesOversee clinical risk management processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsLead accreditation processes and maintain organisational standardsFoster meaningful consumer engagement and incorporate patient feedback into service improvementsDesign and deliver clinical education programs that build workforce capabilityCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote continuous learning and professional developmentMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety and quality initiativesSupport the development of policies and procedures that align with best practice standards
