Gilmore College is an Independent public school which opened in 2008 continuing 52 previous years of secondary education provided by Kwinana Senior High School. Overview
* Year Coordinator will have pastoral care responsibility for 1 Year Group (across Year 7-10), based on the business needs of the school.
* Teaching load of 0.4 - 0.6, negotiable based on the successful applicant’s skill set and additional responsibilities.
The Role
As a Year Coordinator, you will provide pastoral care and wellbeing support for students across Years 7 and 10. As a valued member of our team, we envision you as a conscientious, flexible, and innovative educator deeply committed to the holistic development of every student. You will implement and promote the positive reward system for given year levels, and you triage support requests for support services. Working with and reporting to one of our Year Managers in Student Services, you will provide case management for identified students, and provide teachers with classroom management strategies, supporting the development of Individual Education/Behaviour Support Plans. We seek motivated applicants with a passion for fostering a positive culture. Building positive relationships with students and fostering a passion for creating positive futures aligns seamlessly with our shared values and culture.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Positive Behaviour in Schools framework and demonstrate a growth mindset in interactions with students, parents, and staff. Strong public relations skills are essential, as the role involves liaising with parents, staff across the College, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing and monitoring the wellbeing of students in specified Year groups, including attendance follow-up.
* Providing support and advice to students, parents/caregivers, and staff regarding academic, behavioural, attendance, social, and emotional wellbeing.
* Organizing activities, awards, and functions to foster positive relationships between students, staff, and parents/caregivers.
* Managing individual student behaviour and progress through restorative practices, case management, and mediation.
* Collecting, analysing, and disseminating data relevant to the pastoral care of all students.
* Performing other duties as required by the Principal and Senior Leadership Team.
