Site Security is a critical function in any organization. It involves ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and information.
The role of a Site Security Officer is to provide strategic oversight of protective security across governance, personnel, and physical security. This includes providing advice and guidance on security protocols and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and developing and implementing security policies and plans.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of security risk management techniques, incident management, investigations, and crisis management principles. They will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Defence security or security processes and procedures, and hold a Defence Security Clearance. They will be self-motivated, able to work under their own initiative, and have a high degree of security awareness.
About You
* Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
* Defence Security Officer Course, Defence Security Risk Management Course (desired).
* Knowledge of incident management, investigations, and crises management principles.
* Knowledge of security risk management techniques.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Strong experience in all Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
* Demonstrate experience in Defence security or security processes and procedures.
* Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
This is a full-time, on-site, role based out of our Canberra office. The individual will hold, or have ability to hold, NV2 or higher security clearance.
Practical Examples Of Some Day-to-Day Tasks
* Maintain BAESystems Digital Intelligence DISP compliance requirements.
* Opening and closing of the site and secure areas.
* Managing and escorting visitors.
* Manage clearance portal for the organisation.
* Supporting business with local and international visitor requests.
* Assist with day-to-day site operations.
