AECOM continues to grow our Transport and Infrastructure team across Australia and New Zealand, and we're looking for experienced Design Managers with a strong background in transport and highways detailed design to support our expanding pipeline of major infrastructure work across Brisbane and South East Queensland.
Based in Brisbane, these roles offer the opportunity to work on some of the region's most significant transport and infrastructure projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across ANZ. With continued investment across the South East Queensland transport network, our pipeline includes a range of major road, highway and regional transport infrastructure projects.

Job Description
This opportunity are well suited to professionals who enjoy leading design packages from concept through to detailed design, coordinating multidisciplinary teams across offices, and acting as a key interface with clients and project stakeholders.
These roles will play an important part in strengthening our design leadership capability across the Brisbane region, supporting the delivery of complex transport projects and helping shape the future of infrastructure across South East Queensland.
How you'll make a difference
* Lead the delivery of complex transport and highways design projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes through detailed design phases.
* Act as Design Manager across multiple projects or programmes, owning design governance, technical delivery, programme and risk management.
* Manage packages of work end-to-end, coordinating multidisciplinary teams across ANZ to deliver complex infrastructure projects.
* Serve as a trusted client advisor, building strong relationships with key stakeholders including TMR, local councils, utilities and developers.
* Provide technical leadership and design assurance, setting standards, leading gate reviews and acting as verifier on major projects.
* Support project recovery, independent technical reviews and complex problem solving where required.
* Contribute to mentoring senior and principal engineers, strengthening AECOM's transport design capability and supporting strategic bids and project pursuits.

* Extensive experience as a Design Manager or senior design lead within transport and infrastructure projects.
* Strong background in highways and road detailed design, with a deep understanding of relevant standards and delivery frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience leading and managing design packages or programmes of work across major infrastructure projects.
* Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
* Strong client and stakeholder management capability, particularly with transport authorities such as TMR, local councils or similar agencies.
* Experience providing design governance, technical oversight and assurance across complex transport projects.
* A collaborative leadership style with a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure that supports sustainable growth and connected communities.
