The Role
This role is designed as a clear transition pathway for a trade-qualified motor mechanic into a Field Service Technician role, following the successful completion of an initial three-week structured training period.
The position is primarily a field service role within Lift Care Services (LCS), focusing on the on-site servicing, inspection, and repair of vehicle-mounted wheelchair lifts and tailgate loaders.
Some installation work is also undertaken at our Sumner workshop facility as part of ongoing development.
You will start in January, with OEM training provided from day one. Training is hands-on and field-based, working alongside experienced technicians while out on the road.
Once the initial training phase is completed and you transition into the Field Service Technician role, you will be:
* On the road most days, carrying out service and inspection work, with some installation work
* Working a start-early, finish-early schedule, typical of field service roles
* Paid overtime as required, including for regional work
* Provided with your own fully set-up field service vehicle, equipped with tools, parts, phone, and systems required to work independently
-----------------------------------
Additional Role Elements
The role also includes:
* Periodic service trips throughout Northern NSW and Queensland (up to one week at a time)
* Some installation work on new light vehicles, fitting lifting equipment in line with manufacturer and compliance requirements
* Occasional workshop-based installation work at our Sumner facility, with the opportunity to help build and develop an installation team as the business grows
* A minor customer and service coordination component, similar to a dealership service advisor role
* Occasional support exposure to Endurequip Services (EQS) and Machinery Services Australia (MSA) as part of long-term career development
This is an ideal opportunity for a mechanic wanting to step out of the workshop and build a long-term field service career.
