Full time, Fixed term position until May 2028 Opportunity for a strategic Sourcing Manager to make a significant impact within the University’s Procurement Services team Base Salary $150,628 17% superannuation About the opportunity The University of Sydney’s Procurement Services team is currently looking for a Sourcing Manager – Research and Teaching Equipment and Consumables (RTEC) to support the RTEC procurement pipeline including the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator project. The Sourcing Manager (RTEC) is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across multiple categories of research equipment and services, this role is expected to negotiate the best value outcomes for the University and ensure the contract instruments incorporate all negotiated outcomes and key performance indicators. Your key responsibilities will be to: Design and execute strategic sourcing strategies, incorporating best practices in risk management. Project manage multiple sourcing events Oversee procurement pipeline delivery, governance, and reporting, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Lead stakeholder engagement, fostering collaborative relationships with faculties, research units, and procurement teams. Drive contract management, ensuring negotiated outcomes meet commercial, risk, and performance objectives. Utilise negotiation and influencing strategies to maximise value for the University. Champion continuous improvement in procurement methodologies to enhance efficiency and value. Provide leadership and team management, cultivating a positive and adaptable work culture About you Has work experience in a similar procurement function within a large and complex organisation Has relevant post grad/tertiary qualifications within a relevant field Has strong capability to prioritise and manage multiple complex projects effectively Has proven ability to influence key stakeholders and negotiate in diverse and complex supplier environments excellent communication and well-developed customer service skills with a ‘can do’ attitude and able to demonstrate concern for meeting and exceeding the needs of the customer well-developed stakeholder engagement & stakeholder management skills proven ability in analysing, reporting and presenting complex quantitative and qualitative data.
