About the Role:
Trust is the hardest asset to build and the easiest to lose. TU Certification Global is the Australian-headquartered arm of a major international certification body. We issue the certificates that allow companies to operate safely, trade internationally, and demonstrate sustainability.
We are seeking a Head of Global Compliance & Risk to act as our \"Internal Policeman\" and strategic advisor. You will own the integrity of our accreditation licenses (JAS-ANZ, UKAS, ANAB). You will ensure that while our sales teams push for growth, our technical teams never compromise on the standards that define us. You will report directly to the Global CEO, managing risk across our APAC, European, and American offices from our Queensland HQ.
Why Join Us?
* The Lifestyle: You are managing a global remit from one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Surf at Burleigh Heads in the morning; lead a risk committee meeting with London in the evening.
* The Scope: This is not a box-ticking role. You are responsible for the entire Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework for a multi-national entity.
* The Stability: In a volatile economy, certification and compliance are recession-proof. Our business grows as regulation increases.
* The Challenge: You will lead our transition into new regulatory landscapes, including ESG verification and Modern Slavery reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accreditation Management: Maintain our license to operate. Manage relationships with accreditation bodies (JAS-ANZ, DAkkS, etc.) and lead external office audits.
* Global Internal Audit: Design and execute the internal audit schedule across all global subsidiaries. Ensure consistent application of ISO 17021 and ISO 17065 standards.
* Risk Architecture: Maintain the Global Risk Register. Identify emerging threats—from geopolitical instability affecting our auditors to cyber-security risks in our certification database.
* Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Stay ahead of legislation. Advise the board on how changes in the Australian Modern Slavery Act or EU Green Deal impact our clients and our liabilities.
* Incident Management: Lead the investigation into any technical failures, appeals, or complaints. You are the final arbiter on ethical conflicts.
What We Are Looking For:
* Experience: 10+ years in Quality, Compliance, or Risk Management, ideally within the TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) or Professional Services sector.
* Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of ISO 17021 (Conformity Assessment) is highly desirable. Experience with ISO 9001/14001/45001 management systems is essential.
* Legal/Audit Mindset: You might be a former Lawyer, Lead Auditor, or Risk Consultant. You have an eye for detail that others miss.
* Global Fluency: You are comfortable working across time zones and cultures. You know that \"Compliance\" means different things in Germany, China, and Australia.
* Gravitas: You have the strength of character to deliver bad news to the Board or halt a commercial initiative if it breaches our risk appetite.
Pay: $180,000.00 – $230,000.00 per year
