Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQ HHS) is seeking an experienced physiotherapist to join our team as a Physiotherapist Advanced – Bone Health. This position will deliver advanced level physiotherapy clinical and consultancy services within the specialist area of bone and mineral health conditions across the continuum of care in the CHQ HHS
The Queensland Children's Hospital Physiotherapy Department is a tertiary paediatric service providing high level care, based on evidence-based practice and international standards of care. Advanced clinicians are available in all physiotherapy teams, whilst supervision and governance are underpinned by the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards. Subspecialty teams provide patient-centred management, tailored to the child and family's unique needs that can be delivered in outpatient, day patient, inpatient, outreach and telehealth settings.
About the Role
* Independently apply advanced level clinical expertise, specialised techniques and professional judgement to a complex caseload.
* Provide professional leadership in the facilitation of research and practical application of valid and reliable evidence to support quality clinical practice and the development and review of treatment protocols that support the continuum of care, high standards of care and optimal clinical outcomes for patients.
* Provide advanced level clinical advice regarding physiotherapy expertise in bone and mineral health conditions.
* Work cooperatively and engage in effective communications with clinical service providers, service managers and clinical team leaders to facilitate early access to physiotherapy services and support effective service delivery.
* Provide specialist clinical advice regarding physiotherapy care for children/adolescents with bone and mineral health conditions and their sequelae to clinical service providers, service managers and health care consumers.
* Actively pursue relevant professional development and take a lead role in the development and delivery of relevant competency training and skill development programs in bone and mineral health physiotherapy care, targeted at less experienced physiotherapists, assistants and students.
* Work in partnership with the Director of Physiotherapy and the Director of Endocrinology (or delegate) to plan, develop, operationalise and coordinate services.
* Lead research, service evaluation and quality improvement change within Queensland Bone and Mineral Service.
* Contribute to HHS and state-wide physiotherapy services development through participation in relevant projects, committees and clinical networks.
