Mental Health Registered Nurse (Ward 3C – General Adult In-patient)

· Registered Nurse - Permanent Full-time & Part-time positions available

· 12-hour shifts (rotating roster)

Northern Beaches Hospital Ward 3C is currently seeking to recruit Registered Nurses to join our general adult mental health unit. This 20-bed unit, comprising a 4-bed High Dependency Unit and a 16-bed General Acute side, is a new purpose-built facility designed with safety and care delivery in mind.

Ward 3C operates under a trauma-informed care approach and the recovery model, providing high-quality care to patients with various mental health conditions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team supported by senior management and clinical roles, including Clinical Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Clinical Nurse Consultants, offering great prospects for career progression.

Our aim is to train and develop Registered Nurses to support career advancement opportunities. As a Safewards Ward, we are leaders in reducing restrictive practices. Successful applicants will be provided with a mentor, coaching from senior staff, and opportunities to develop their careers

As a Registered Nurse :

· Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures

· Provided exceptional customer service and person centred and evidence-based care

· Provided supervision and preceptorship to Enrolled Nurses, Graduates and Students and

· AINs/PSAs

· Effectively work within scope of practice, and demonstrated clinical competencies

· Provide comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes including recognition and timely response to patient deterioration

· Work as a valued member of an inter-disciplinary team, managed own worktime and personal well being

Essential Criteria :

· Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent

· Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary of (up to, depending on years' experience) of $49.79 per hour.

Applicants will be required to provide a current (12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Children's Check, prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
