**The Role**
As a Navy Enterprise Compliance and Assurance Officer, you will be in at the ground level developing a new Compliance and Assurance capability within the new Directorate of Navy Governance in Navy Headquarters.
The context for the establishment of this new Directorate and the Compliance and Assurance capability is Navy's intent to strengthen Navy Governance, in particular assuring Navy's compliance to Legislated, Regulatory and Defence requirements and assuring achievement of Navy's mission. You will contribute to the development of an Enterprise Compliance and Assurance Framework for Navy and then take on the role of Compliance and Assurance Officer focused on developing an Enterprise Assurance Master Plan.
Once the Framework is published, the role will evolve towards analysis, planning and reporting assurance activities to ensure ongoing compliance to the Framework by relevant areas across the Navy Enterprise.
This newly established role requires the occupant to have the following capabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction to plan, prioritise tasks and deliver quality outcomes
- Enterprise level assurance experience, including in using analytical tools and techniques to analyse performance data to develop reports for different audiences
- Ability to acquire in depth knowledge on policy and legislation in a compliance or regulatory context
- Be experienced in effective stakeholder engagement and can effectively work in a diverse team
**About our Team**
This is an opportunity to be part of a new Directorate of Navy Governance within Navy Headquarters. The Directorate has been established to integrate governance functions of policy, business planning and reporting, risk management, compliance and assurance across the Navy enterprise.
The new Directorate is an integrated team of military, APS and contracted employees forming the enterprise hub of Navy's Governance in direct support to Deputy Chief of Navy.
The Compliance and Assurance capability will initially comprise two personnel working directly for the Director Navy Governance. An experienced Navy Officer will lead the Navy Compliance and Assurance section assisted by an APS6 Navy Enterprise Compliance and Assurance Officer.
Within 12 months of establishing the initial C&A capability, it is intended to review the longer term Navy's C&A capability requirements and potentially establish a larger team with additional APS positions.
