Hobart Waterfront | Callington Mill Distillery
We are seeking a professional, dedicated and ethical Bartender to join our team at Callington Mill Distillery's Hobart venue, located on the historic waterfront at MACq01. This is a full-time role suited to someone with a genuine passion for premium spirits, hospitality excellence, and operational precision.
About the Role
As a key member of our bar team, you will play a central role in delivering a refined, high-end experience to every guest. You\'ll work closely with management to uphold our brand vision and standards, ensuring each drink is prepared and served with speed, precision, and elegance.
Beyond service, this role involves serious responsibility for stock control and management, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and efficiency in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve premium cocktails, spirits, and beverages to a consistently high standard
* Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is required at commencement of employment
* Deliver fast, professional service during busy periods without compromising quality
* Uphold a clean, organised, and well-presented bar at all times
* Follow and execute management direction with professionalism and attention to detail
* Oversee daily stock levels, assist with ordering, stock rotation, and wastage minimisation
* Contribute to team culture with a respectful, ethical, and dedicated attitude
* Support the implementation of new systems, menus, and service standards as required
* Serve tables as required to support the team
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Applicants must have current Australian work authorisation at the time of application
* Serious, ethical, and reliable — takes pride in their work and their team
* Highly skilled in cocktail preparation and premium beverage service
* Efficient and accurate with stock control and back-of-house systems
* Fast and precise behind the bar, even under pressure
* A team player who listens, communicates clearly, and executes instructions well
* Well-presented and respectful, with a strong sense of hospitality and professionalism
* Follow instructions and respects systems and policies in place (this is critical)
* Previous experience in high-end bars, restaurants, is highly value
* A minimum of 1-2 years of bartending experience is required for this position
