Role Overview
The SharePoint Online Developer / Administrator will be responsible for designing, developing, administering, and supporting modern SharePoint Online solutions that enhance collaboration, streamline business processes, and support secure, scalable digital workplaces. The role requires strong technical expertise in SharePoint Online, workflow solutions, and Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies.
The successful candidate will contribute to the full solution lifecycle, including planning, implementation, management, monitoring, and ongoing optimisation of SharePoint-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Development
* Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint Online solutions that are robust, secure, and aligned with modern UX and governance standards.
* Create and configure SharePoint Online sites, site collections, libraries, lists, and supporting objects to support business processes and workflows.
* Implement workflow solutions integrated with SharePoint Online to automate and streamline business processes.
* Develop and maintain custom solutions using tools such as SPFx, React, Nintex, or equivalent frameworks.
Administration & Support
* Search configuration and optimisation
* Managed metadata and taxonomy
* Site collections and permissions
* Core SharePoint Online services and settings
* Provide administration and support services for SharePoint Online and related Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
* Use PowerShell scripting and JSON to support automation, configuration, deployment, and administration tasks.
* Leverage Microsoft 365 collaboration tools such as OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and (where applicable) Skype for Business as part of integrated collaboration solutions.
* Ensure solutions are designed to work seamlessly across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Project Delivery & Governance
* Contribute to project planning and execution, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and meet defined requirements.
* Assist in monitoring, managing, and maintaining SharePoint environments post-implementation.
* Follow best practices in security, governance, and lifecycle management for SharePoint Online solutions.
Mandatory Evaluation Criteria
The role requires the following minimum experience:
* At least 3 years' experience developing SharePoint / SharePoint Online solutions.
* At least 2 years' experience using workflow solutions integrated with SharePoint / SharePoint Online.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience with PowerShell scripting and working with JSON.
* Proven experience creating modern, secure, and well-designed SharePoint Online sites and process flows.
* Strong hands‐on experience administering SharePoint Online features, including search, metadata, site collections, and related core technologies.
* Experience providing administration services for SharePoint Online and associated collaboration platforms.
* Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including:
o OneDrive for Business
o Microsoft Teams
o Outlook
o Skype for Business (where applicable)
* Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
o Nintex
o SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
o React
* Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills
* Ability to design practical, scalable solutions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
* Strong attention to security, governance, and best practices
