Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital
The Grade 1 Dietitian works alongside the Multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical nutrition and dietetic services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. Ensures practice is in accordance to the Dietitians Australia (DA) _Professional Standards and Code of Conduct_ and SJGHC policies and guidelines.
The Position- Provide direct nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and/or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and/or outpatients.- Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients- Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate.- Uses nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards.- Document patients' medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.- Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.- Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups within the Division.- Develop and review dietary education resources.- Participate in other hospital activities as assigned.- Supervise, instruct and assess dietetic students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager.
You will possess a tertiary qualification in Dietetics and be eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) (formerly known as Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)) and evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.
