The Role
You will coordinate end-to-end payroll services and help shape payroll operations during a major workforce transition.
* Coordinate payroll activities, including new hires, terminations, and employee transitions to permanent roles
* Act as the primary liaison with the outsourced payroll provider (Aurion)
* Ensure timely, accurate payroll processing and maintain compliance with legislation and policies
* Support the development of payroll procedures and documentation
* Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
* Provide expert advice on payroll-related queries and requirements
* Assist with reporting, audits, and compliance activities
* Work closely with Finance and People & Culture to ensure seamless integration of payroll operations
The Ideal Person
You're an experienced payroll professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys creating order out of complexity. You take pride in delivering accurate and compliant payroll outcomes, but you're also someone who can see the bigger picture and drive improvements. With a strong understanding of employment legislation, superannuation, and payroll compliance, you can confidently interpret complex information and provide clear advice. Ideally, you have experience working with outsourced payroll providers and exposure to systems like Aurion, but you're adaptable and quick to learn new platforms. You're detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in an environment where processes are still being built. Above all, you're collaborative, resilient, and motivated by the opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the future of this agency's payroll function.
Salary / Rate
* $60/hr – $80/hr + Super
* 6 – 12 months Labour Hire Contract
* Baseline clearance or the ability to obtain
