We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced painter to join our growing business
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Making on site preparations such as; erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering.
· Painting surfaces according to drawings and instructions.
· Examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
· Preparing walls and other surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces.
· Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives.
· Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
· Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges.
· Cleaning equipment and work areas.
· Calculate material costs.
· Deliver high-quality painting work.
· Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Painting.
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience.
· White Card holder.
· Proven experience as a painter.
· Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
· Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
· Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.).
· Good basic math skills.
· Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
· Conscientious with outstanding attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
