Electrical Engineer - Production Engineering Support Lead
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled electrical engineer to lead our production engineering support team.
This is a technical and leadership role, set to grow significantly in scope and influence as the build program advances into the electrical outfit phase within the next two years. Key responsibilities include:
* Mobilise and lead a team of up to 15 engineers and para-professionals, including mentoring and coaching.
* Conduct technical assessments to resolve electrical engineering issues (e.g., cable reeving, optical fiber, conduit) during shipbuilding.
* Provide an interface between the Production Engineering team, Ship Management and Operations stakeholders.
* Attain and exercise formal Engineering Delegation of Authority to develop Production Query fit/form variances that do not impact design intent.
* Develop and maintain repair threshold documents in collaboration with design authorities and stakeholders, ensuring functional integrity of the HCF design.
Key Requirements:
* Significant experience as a professional Electrical Engineer and able to apply technical knowledge to shipbuilding issues.
* Experience in developing electrical equipment designs, undertaking typical design analyses and implementation of electrical/ electronic solutions & its integration.
* Engineering degree qualified, satisfying the requirements for Chartered membership of the institute of Engineers Australia.
* Self-motivated and able to work effectively under limited supervision.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with excellent customer relations skills.
* Understanding of requirements, design, safety & verification.
