Offer description

ASR Recruitment is partnering with HVCCC to appoint a Capacity Planning Lead within the Capacity and Performance Team.

This is a key leadership role for someone who can combine strong analytical capability with clear communication and stakeholder influence. You'll lead high-impact modelling and forecasting work that supports coal chain optimisation across the Hunter Valley network, from near-term operations through to long-range master planning.

About HVCCC

HVCCC is the only organisation with an independent, end-to-end view of the Hunter Valley Coal Chain, working to optimise performance across a complex network of interdependent infrastructure. With services spanning "day of operations" to 10-year planning, HVCCC supports members by aligning capacity with demand, integrating maintenance and operations and providing high-quality analysis and advisory that informs performance improvement and future investment decisions.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Capacity and Performance Manager, the Capacity Planning Lead is accountable for the quality and timely delivery of HVCCC's modelling, analysis, forecasting and advisory services. You will set standards, prioritise and coordinate work programs and provide subject matter leadership to ensure outputs are accurate, repeatable and used to drive better decisions.

Key responsibilities:

* Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of HVCCC's modelling and forecasting program of work, including annual declaration, annual forecasting, master planning and member-requested analysis
* Oversee terminal capacity modelling, system assumptions and analytical assessments that identify constraints and opportunities to deliver contracted volumes efficiently
* Drive 10-year master plan scenario modelling and long-range analysis to support whole-of-coal-chain optimisation and strategic guidance
* Prepare succinct papers, briefings and presentations for internal stakeholders, working groups and board-level forums (in support of the Capacity and Performance Manager)
* Build trusted relationships across HVCCC, members and service providers and proactively engage stakeholders to understand emerging operational and regional changes

About You

You are an analytical leader who can work comfortably with complexity, while providing clear direction and turning modelling outputs into practical insight. You'll bring strong judgement, a collaborative approach and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.

You will ideally have:

* Experience leading modelling/forecasting/capacity planning work in complex environments (e.g. supply chain, logistics, transport networks, resources/energy, utilities, large infrastructure systems) with knowledge of the mining/coal landscape, and an ability to communicate in a measured, professional manner across diverse stakeholder groups
* Experience uplifting capability within a specialist team, including standards, quality assurance and repeatability
* Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to prepare compelling papers and present findings clearly
* A continuous improvement mindset and interest in strengthening analytical capability and decision-making.

Why HVCCC

HVCCC offers meaningful, high-impact work in a purpose-driven organisation. The culture is underpinned by strong behavioural values, including care for people and a focus on building sustainable capability and operational excellence.
