Responsibilities
1. Planning : Safety officers must create a safe environment by ensuring they have all the necessary equipment for their team. This includes ensuring that shoring equipment is available to support unstable structures and that employees have the tools needed to complete their work safely. They are responsible for organizing their workload to prevent harm during work activities, ensuring tasks are completed without causing damage to the workplace or anyone else.
2. Supervising : Safety officers supervise all team members to ensure safe work practices. They must ensure that each person understands their role and responsibilities within the team. They handle tasks such as first-aid procedures, safety checks on equipment, and assisting in setting up and operating emergency equipment correctly. Depending on the organization, they may be the only personnel on-site with first-aid training or oversee a team of first-aid trainers or safety managers.
All safety officers should adhere to a set of responsibilities, regardless of their specific role or position within the organization.
