Overview of the Role
The ICT Systems Administrator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a standard operating environment, ensuring reliable and secure systems across the organisation.
This highly technical role requires strong knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux, as well as experience with networking protocols and technologies, server hardware and virtualization platforms, Cloud Services and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure and maintain operating systems, applications and software, including patching and updating systems, and troubleshooting issues.
* Manage user accounts and permissions.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify and resolve problems.
* Implement security measures to protect the network and data, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies.
* Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches and firewalls, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
* Provide technical support to users and other ICT team members, including answering questions and guiding users with systems or software issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a relevant field.
* Strong knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux.
* Experience with networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
* Familiarity with server hardware and virtualization platforms.
* Experience with Cloud Services and technologies.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with security best practices and tools.
