We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic, experienced reporter to join our local team in Alice Springs who themselves bring decades of institutional knowledge and boundless passion for Central Australia. The role involves some shift and weekend work and will see you chasing stories right across the stunning landscapes and unique communities of Central Australia. Working together with an experienced, dedicated team, you'll create news content for broadcast, social media and online platforms to engage and inform audiences in the region and across the country. Reporting to the Editor while working effectively within the Alice Springs office, you'll also coordinate output with state and national news desks, you'll also deliver digital news content, radio news bulletins, Q&As, interviews, live crosses, and TV news packages Position Description: 30003047 REPORTER NEWS.pdf About You You will be a journalist with proven experience in breaking news and generating original stories in a daily news environment. You will also possess: Cross-platform and video production skills. Confident broadcast presentation skills including live presentation. Proficient editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise reliable judgement. Good planning and logistical skills. Proven ability to drive and pitch original content for multi-platform news coverage. A strong grasp of political, social and local issues that affect Alice Springs and the Northern Territory. Resourcefulness and ability to work independently. The ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with people from a range of diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated understanding and passion to source and create authentic content which represents the broad diversity of the Australian community.
