Key Responsibilities
* Lead biodiversity assessments under NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme regulations, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations.
* Prepare comprehensive ecological and biodiversity reports, providing expert advice to clients on environmental matters.
* Oversee or support field surveys, stakeholder engagement, and client relationships, fostering strong connections and driving project success.
* Mentor junior ecologists, contributing to the company's exceptional technical expertise and promoting knowledge sharing among team members.
Requirements
* Hold tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Ecology, or a related field.
* Possess 5+ years of ecological experience, preferably within NSW.
* Demonstrate working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
* Exhibit strong fauna and/or flora species knowledge and identification skills, as well as familiarity with threatened species and ecological communities.
* Proven experience in planning and executing ecological fieldwork.
* Ability to prepare high-quality reports, including environmental assessments and management plans.
* Experience in offset site assessments and credit trading.
* Expertise in carrying out BAM assessments and preparing BDAR, BCAR, or BSSAR documents.
* Previous consulting or project management experience.
* A desire to share knowledge and mentor others.
