Port Augusta Technical College: Shaping the Future of Technical Education in South Australia
Port Augusta Technical College will be a visionary institution that aims to revolutionize technical education in South Australia. The State Government is investing in Technical Colleges that will set the standard for excellence in their design, learning environment and delivery of skills-based training for school-enrolled students.
Co-located with Port Augusta Secondary School and will open in mid-2025, Port Augusta Technical College will be a part time attendance model for secondary school students within the region to access whilst maintaining their enrolment in their current school.
Port Augusta Technical College will have accommodation facilities on site and offer four industry training programs for careers in civil, resources and infrastructure, health and social support, hospitality and tourism, and multi-trades (for careers such as plumbers, builders, electricians, and boilermakers).
We are searching for a facilities and maintenance professional to join our dynamic team and make a positive impact on our students.

What you will do:
* Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance and improvement of all technical college buildings and specialised equipment, ensuring a high standard suitable for a technical education environment.
* Security and Safety: Coordinate security procedures, liaise with Police Security, and respond to emergency callouts to maintain a secure and safe environment for students and staff
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Operations Manager, external service providers, and Department for Education staff to manage assets and facilities effectively
What you will need:
* Demonstrated experience in establishing facilities, grounds systems and carrying out maintenance and repairs on school facilities
* Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and to communicate positively and effectively with staff, students and external organisations
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise and deliver tasks on required deadlines by exercising judgement and initiative as well as analysing problems and making recommendations for improvement
