A Northern NSW hospital requires a Senior Registrar/CMO in Emergency Medicine from 07/06/2025 to 10/06/2025.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Dates:
Saturday 7 June 25 (24 hour block)
Sunday 8 June 25 (24 hour block)
Monday 9 June 25 (24 hour block)
Shift times:
0700 to 0800 oncall + 0800 to 1800 onsite + 1800 to 0700 oncall
Experience:
PGY4 or greater with 6 to 12 months critical care experience (Emergency, Anaesthetics or ICU)
Back up:
Telehealth providing access to FACEMS at Coffs Harbour Health Campus 16 hours per day, 7 days per week
Telehealth providing access to a Senior Registrar at Coffs Harbour Health Campus overnight, 7 nights per week
Responsibility:
ED Coverage:
Weekdays/Weekends/Public Holidays
24 hr coverage of ED from 0700-0700
Rapid Response on Wards:
Weekdays/Weekends/Public Holidays
24 hr coverage, in addition to any VMO's on site
Clinical review of inpatients if required:
Weekdays - 1700-0700 if requested by nursing staff on any ward
Weekends / Public Holidays - Any time if requested by nursing staff
Limited ward round of inpatients:
Weekdays – Only if requested
Weekends / Public Holidays
Morning ward round of:
- patients listed in Weekend Handover Book
- patients admitted on Friday or Saturday
- patients requested to be seen by nursing staff
Admissions through ED and patient transfers from Coffs Hospital:
Weekdays - Admission, examination, medication & fluid charts, notify relevant VMO
Weekends / Public Holidays - Admission, examination, medication & fluid charts, notify relevant VMO, and enter patient details in handover book for next day's ward round.
