About the role
In this position, you will support Council's financial operations, including payroll, financial reporting, asset management, budgeting, and annual and long-term financial planning. Supported by experienced accountants, you will gain practical experience across a broad range of local government finance functions.
The ideal candidatewill:
* Hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or be nearing completion);
* Have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements;
* Have high-level computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet and database applications (Excel and Access);
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills;
* Be proactive in seeking opportunities to learn and develop professionally;
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Be collaborative and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
