**About the role**
The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Specialist provides intensive community based mental health interventions for women with major mental illness during the perinatal period and an advanced nursing/allied health service as an expert in the community mental health specialty field and facilitates linkages and relationships with Local Health District nurses/midwives, multidisciplinary teams and medical officers to support patient management.
Providing assessment, care planning and review of patients in collaboration with the primary service providers to ensure that evidence-based practice is utilised. The CNC2/Senior Allied Health clinician is responsible for the provision of expert clinical advice, coordination, leadership and consultancy services within the defined catchment area and target populations within Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).
