About the role
As the Purchasing Assistant you will be responsible for the following:
* Assist the Purchasing Manager in the procurement of raw materials, supplies, and equipment needed for manufacturing.
* Obtain quotes and negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and reorder points.
* Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
* Resolve any issues related to orders, invoices, and deliveries.
* Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Matching and receipting purchase orders.

About you
* 1-3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of purchasing principles, practices, and procedures.
* Familiarity with inventory management software and ERP systems (Simpro).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Forklift Licence (Preferable)
Location
You will be based at our Hazelmere workshop. Located next to Roe Highway, commuting may be easy depending on which direction you come from. We have plenty of parking onsite. There is also a bus stop approx. 150m from the gate. Midland Gate a stones throw away and there are plenty of local lunch options to hit the spot.
