Position Overview
Cleanaway's Rutherford Oil Refinery is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their workshop team. The role ensures preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as break‐fix, are carried out in a timely manner and to site standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform all activities safely.
* Conduct fault and maintenance diagnostics and complete repairs to maintain continuous plant operation.
* Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance services.
* Assist in the organization of shutdowns.
* Plan regular maintenance activities.
* Recommend and implement improvements to fixed plant and work practices.
* Supervise contractors onsite.
* Document maintenance activities, maintain databases, and generate purchasing requests.
* Fabricate components in accordance with blueprints or schematic drawings, including minor welding repairs.
* Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
* Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Australia) or National Certificate in Automotive Machining – Level 4 (New Zealand) or equivalent.
* Experience in mechanical roles, preferably boilermaker trades.
* Experience with pumps, compressors, high‐pressure valves and flanges.
* Forklift licence, EWP licence, confined space and height work certificates highly advantageous.
* Computer literacy essential.
* Ability to work overtime.
* Demonstrated experience in fault‐finding and repairing a range of machinery.
Work Details
* Full‐time, permanent position.
* Location: Rutherford, NSW.
* Pay: $48.00 – $50.72 per hour plus overtime penalties based on skills and experience.
* Hours: Monday to Friday with additional overtime as required.
