About the Role - Galley Loader / Offsider
The Galley Loader/Offsider is responsible for loading and unloading catering equipment, assisting drivers in positioning vehicles at various aircraft types, and transferring equipment between trucks and aircraft galleys. All duties are carried out in accordance with customer requirements, safety regulations, and company procedures. This role operates on a rotating roster, working any five days out of seven, with rotating AM and PM shifts.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the accurate, timely, and fault-free loading and off-loading of catering equipment, maintaining full load security.
* Coordinate with relevant departments and the Duty Manager to support efficient operations.
* Load and unload aircraft in line with flight schedules, loading lists, labels, and designated galley positions.
* Act as the main point of contact between the Transport Dispatcher (Dock Controller) and the driver while on the tarmac.
* Report injuries, incidents, missing materials, or operational irregularities to the Transport Dispatcher (Dock Controller).
* Utilise downtime as directed, including laundry, storage, vehicle cleaning, and pick-and-pack duties.
* Comply with all applicable regulations, including safety, security, materials handling, country-specific requirements, SQOR, and company policies.
* Perform additional meal-handling duties as required.
About You
* Hold a current full driver's licence and have access to reliable transport.
* Experience in a customer-facing or similar support role is highly regarded.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Availability to work rotating shifts.
* Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
* No criminal record.
