**Job Summary**:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities in their daily living activities, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in supported living environments, providing them with the necessary support while respecting their personal choices and goals.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Promote and encourage clients' independence by supporting them in developing life skills.
- Implement and follow individualized support plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive living environment.
- Maintain accurate records of client activities and progress, reporting to management as necessary.
- Facilitate social and recreational activities that promote community involvement.
- Collaborate with other team members and professionals to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices in supporting clients.
**Qualifications**:
- A Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability Support, or a related field
- Previous experience working in the aged care or disability support sector, preferably in a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide compassionate care
- A genuine commitment to promoting the independence, dignity, and wellbeing of disabled individuals
- A current driver's licence and reliable mode of transportation
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- A valid first aid certificate and police check
- Current NDIS Worker Screen Check
