About the role
We are seeking a talented Commis and apprentice chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Billy Chow' in Coolangatta, Queensland. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in supporting our Head Chef and Senior Chefs in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Assist the Head Chef and Senior Chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for our menu
* Learn and develop new culinary skills and techniques under the guidance of our experienced team
* Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to health, safety and hygiene standards
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment
* Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve kitchen processes and menu items
* Undertake any other duties as required to support the kitchen team
What we're looking for
* Passion for food and a keen interest in the culinary arts
* Some experience in a commercial kitchen environment, either as a commis chef or apprentice
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills
* Relevant culinary qualifications or a commitment to undertaking an apprenticeship program
