About the role
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead Cortek’s Production Department and play a key role in the next stage of the company’s growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings a genuine ownership mindset, strong people leadership, and the ability to drive safe, efficient, high-quality manufacturing outcomes. Reporting to management, this role will work closely with the Projects team, Logistics, Procurement, Design, and broader operations team, with the opportunity to become part of the future leadership group.
You will be responsible for day-to-day production performance while also lifting standards, improving systems, developing leaders, building a high-performing team culture.
Key responsibilities
· Lead the Production Department with accountability for safety, quality, output, and team performance
· Drive production planning and operational performance across daily, weekly, and monthly targets
· Build strong team leadership capability through coaching, mentoring, and delegation
· Create structure, discipline, and clear operating rhythms across the department
· Monitor output, machine performance, labour utilisation, and production data
· Identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies and implement practical improvements
· Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Ensure compliance with OH&S, quality standards, and safe work practices
· Work closely with Projects team, Logistics, Procurement, Processing, and Design to align priorities and delivery outcomes
· Contribute to workforce planning, succession planning, and the long-term growth of the department
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring;
· Proven leadership experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment
· Demonstrate sound knowledge around production planning and forecasting
· A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and personal responsibility for results
· Excellent leadership, delegation, and team development capability
· The ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple moving parts
· A hunger to achieve results and continuously raise standards
· Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams
· A calm, mature, and solutions-focused approach under pressure
· Experience in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process discipline
· A commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
