About The Opportunity
This is an important sales management opportunity within our Humes business. It is a pivotal role requiring a seasoned and energetic sales management professional with a unique blend of strategic and sales management experience. You will be required to maximise opportunities across the region with existing and new clients; deliver agreed sales targets and business goals and develop and maintain relationships with major clients, engineers and contractors. You will also provide coaching & mentoring to staff as required.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Build relationships and identify sales opportunities.
- Generate and convert current leads.
- Build brand loyalty and maximise revenues.
- Develop and maintain a structured customer contact plan within the allocated accounts in line with allocated budget targets.
- Maintain and enhance positive working relationships with assigned customers to build customer loyalty.
- Identify and follow up all new business, product and/or project opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Resolve customer issues, disputes and/or complaints, both onsite and offsite, in a prompt and professional manner.
- Enrol relevant internal staff and ensure accountabilities are clearly defined to resolve issues satisfactorily.
- Proactively promote the full product and service range within the territory to maximise opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate and up to date customer database.
- Maintain an understanding of the market changes, trends, opportunities, risks and competitive activity within the allocated territory.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all relevant internal staff that impact on the customer experience.
About You
You are an experienced sales professional who is passionate about driving sales performance and who has solid, practical skills and knowledge in developing the capability of sales teams. You will balance the immediate demands of meeting monthly targets with the long-term strategy of building a robust brand and sales capability, and demonstrate integrity, a positive attitude and strong leadership throughout the sales process. You will ideally have an established network within the civil infrastructure sector, or related sectors (e.g. industrial manufacturing, steel, pre-cast, industrial hire or similar) and you will thrive on building solid business relationships, closing high-level leads and developing long-term accounts.
Engineering and/or commercial qualifications are desirable but not essential. You must demonstrate successful and high-level team leadership of sales professionals ideally within the related sectors. You will be street-smart, level-headed and down to earth with exemplary standards of ethical conduct and professional judgment, with a positive, resilient and goal-oriented nature. This role is complemented by a focus on coaching and developing others and by the ability to create solutions that add value for customers.
Proficiency in Google Docs, PowerPoint, SAP and other systems required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate and build relationships within the business are essential.
